After being cut by the Utah Jazz, Jonas Jerebko looks like he’s heading to the reigning champs, the Golden State Warriors on a 1 year $4.2 million deal.
Jerebko has been a solid bench player the past couple of seasons. In his 2 and a half seasons with the Celtics, I got to watch the 6’10 forward up close. It was infuriating at times because he would get more playing time then Jaylen Brown back in the 2016-17 season and piss me off to no end because I knew we needed Brown. Nevertheless, in the playoffs he proved to never back away from being physical and was not afraid of anyone. He would talk shit to the Cavs players and scream at them to stop flopping. Jerebko was tough, and he had a decent shot, and only took efficient and smart shots that would help the team. In game 3, his defensive tenacity and a clutch jumper late in game 3 of the ECF helped seal the Celtics win.
The Warriors bench got better. He is a tall forward who can shoot and expand the floor. He’ll be a good edition and a tough spark off the bench for a Warriors team who’s bench could always improve after their lackluster performance this past year.
