Red Sox Game Delay Turns to Canceled Game

Last Night, the Red Sox game against the Orioles was delayed in the second inning because of rain. I mean there was no possible thing to predict such a thing right? No things to predict weather at all? Not a weather app?

First off, Orioles knew there were warnings of massive storms sweeping through the area. If you see that, and its going to go on all night, cancel the game and play another day! How boneheaded do you have to be as an organization to be doing stupid things not even Gronk would do. This is the second time the Sox had to deal with rain delays in this series.

Alex Cora, the Red Sox manager, was pretty pissed about the game to say the least. “I’m annoyed about the whole three-game series,” Cora said. “It happened two days ago — a rain delay with two outs in the first inning — and it happened again tonight. I’m not happy about it.” (per the AP and ESPN).

Listen, I get why the Red Sox are pissed. The game shouldn’t have been played at all, and when it did, it wasted a start from David Price, wasted a couple home runs from key guys, and a for sure win turns into a tease and now has to be replayed completely in two weeks.

In order for the Red Sox to have considered that a win, they needed the game to reach five innings. Since it ended moments after Mookie Betts hit a home run in the second inning, the game and its statistics has been erased and is to be made up on August 11th at 1:05 p.m., a day-night doubleheader in Baltimore. The Red Sox play the Twins this next series and look to push forward some momentum and take their anger out on the twins.
