The Cleveland Browns have signed former star running back Kareem Hunt who was cut mid-season because footage surfaced of him hitting a woman. The NFL just took even more steps back with this one.
The NFL gives second chances to women beaters like it’s nothing. From Ray Rice (until the national media destroyed Goodell), Greg Hardy, Joe Mixon, I can go on if you want? But now, we add Hunt to that list.
I hopped on the Browns bandwagon last season due to them being a fun, scrappy team that deserved a shot at the playoffs. Now, I’ll be glad if they miss the playoffs and have a largely disappointing season.
GM John Dorsey stated “Everyone deserves a second chance.” Yeah I don’t agree at all. Sure, maybe with counseling and remorse he can help people learn from his mistakes. But the NFL claims they’re a league of integrity and yet; Hunt is allowed back in the league while Josh Gordon is forced out time and time again for smoking weed. Something isn’t adding up. Why is someone like him allowed back in the league? It should be a privilege to get back, one strike like that, and you’re out.
Kareem Hunt to the Browns is disappointing in all forms. He clearly hasn’t shown remorse for what he did that day. Let’s hope the NFL gets their heads out of their asses and tells Hunt to fuck off… One can only hope.
