Aaaaaaaaaaand we’re back! What a week, huh!? This week things are a bit in the form of a recap of the frenzy of moves in the NFL, as well as some basketball.  Who changed teams you ask? Nick Foles, Le’Veon Bell, Antonio Brown, Odell Beckham Jr., Earl Thomas, Tyrann Mathieu, Trey Flowers, Trent Brown, Olivier Vernon, Golden Tate, Mark Ingram, and many more. It’s okay, because when all of that was happening, Bill Belichick was on vacation without a care in the world, because that’s what winners do.  In other news, we hear more and more about the Lakers each day that paints them in a much worse light (LeBron TRADE RUMORS!?); the Rockets winning streak came to an end against the Warriors; Steve Kerr was caught ripping Draymond Green; Serge Ibaka decided to try to assault a Cleveland Cavalier; Buddy Hield decided to be Klay Thompson, only for Jaylen Brown to clap back and do the same thing in the same quarter (more on that later).

We’ve said enough, now to your preview for this upcoming week!

Fredy: Odell Beckham Jr.

With Odell Beckham now in Cleveland, he’ll team up with his former college teammate Jarvis Landry, as well as Baker Mayfield, Nick Chubb, and Kareem Hunt (who is still a horrible person) to create one of the most potent offenses in the league (Credit: NFL)

The man just got sent to Cleveland for Doritos and a condom wrapper! Lets gooo! I buy OBJ but in reality, I’m buying the Browns having a good season just like last year, but better. This star WR just joined a 2nd year QB whose team can add weapons like no other (see ‘The Ideal QB(s)’ by Nick). This team is going to be a shitload of fun to watch!

When to Watch:

Fall 2019

Kerm: DeMarcus Cousins

Wednesday night against the Rockets, Boogie showed exactly why the Warriors added him to their dynasty. Against arguably the Warriors greatest Western Conference threat (and without Kevin Durant), Cousins put on a show with a 27/8/7 stat line while shooting nearly 70%. Cousins high post passing is a joy to watch, and I wouldn’t mind seeing even more of it. Hopefully an increase in touches will continue with Kevin Durant’s sprained ankle leaving him listed as questionable.

When to Watch:

Golden State Warriors vs. Oklahoma City Thunder (3/16; 8:30 PM)

Golden State Warriors vs. San Antonio Spurs (3/18; 8:00 PM)

Golden State Warriors vs. Minnesota Timberwolves (3/19; 8:00 PM)

Indiana Pacers vs. Golden State Warriors (3/21; 10:30 PM)

Nick: Jaylen Brown

Jaylen has been on my radar for weeks for this section, and this is long overdue. I went to my first C’s game of the season last night (humble brag), and at the end of the third quarter, Jaylen basically went on his own run (a rebuttal to Buddy Hield) in an 80 second span in the third quarter where he hit three straight three pointers, part of a 14-0 run for Boston in which they regained the lead in the game; the Garden went absolutely bonkers, it was great.  Brown is averaging 17.3 PPG this past week on on 43.9% from the field, and 46.7% from three.  He deserves to be in the starting lineup over Marcus Morris, THAT is long overdue.  If you haven’t already, buy your Jaylen stock for the postseason right now.

When to Watch:

Atlanta Hawks vs. Boston Celtics (3/16; 12:30 PM)

Denver Nuggets vs. Boston Celtics (3/18; 7:30 PM)

Boston Celtics vs. Philadelphia 76ers (3/20; 7:00 PM)

Fredy: Patriots Offseason

Image result for bruce ellington
This is WR Bruce Ellington, someone the Patriots singed yesterday. it doesn’t matter if you’ve never heard of him, because when he has a 7-catch game in the playoffs, you’ll be screaming his name wondering how you could forget it! (Rick Scuteri/AP)

You wanted Golden Tate? Too bad! You wanted to resign Trey Flowers? Cry me a river! You wanted Adam Humphries? Bill shouldn’t have been on vacation during such a crucial time in the offseason! There’s no big names being added through free agency and it looks like there never will be. If we do sign someone, like a Jordy Nelson, he’ll probably get cut after the 3rd preseason game. The Patriots don’t seem like they want to offensive weapons to an aging QB even though defenses around the AFC are stacking up. But what do I know? Patriots always do this, now they’re looking for a 7th Super Bowl. I’ll just go screw off.

When to Watch:

Super Bowl LIV

Kerm: Los Angeles Lakers

Through 68 games this season, the Lakers are 31-37, the exact same record they had at this point last season(Credit: USA Today Images)

I know, I know. I’ve been writing about Lakers players here all season, but this is the last time, I promise. Is it possible to shut a whole franchise down for the remainder of the season? No?

Playoff hopes for the Lakers are long gone if we’re being honest. Brandon Ingram and Lonzo Ball are out for the season. The coaching staff leaked info about Magic ignoring their requests to bring back Brook Lopez and Julius Randle. And LeBron James…he’s looked pretty much like the offensive beast that he is, yet this team still looks like a lost cause. I couldn’t even enjoy Kuzma’s lob/bounce pass to LeBron against the Bulls because it essentially meant nothing in the grand scheme of things. Stop wasting your time squinting at the TV screen trying to figure out which G-league player Luke Walton is trotting out and put on another game.

When to Watch:

Los Angeles Lakers vs Detroit Pistons (3/15; 7:00 PM)

Los Angeles Lakers vs New York Knicks (3/17; 12:00 PM)

Los Angeles Lakers vs Milwaukee Bucks (3/19 8:00 PM)

Nick: New York Giants

S-T-U-P-I-D

There first mistake was last year when they trusted Eli and drafted Saquon over Sam Darnold.  Listen, Barkley is great, but when was the last time a workhorse RB was the best player on a team and brought a team to the top? And don’t say Marshawn Lynch, because that’s not the correct answer.  They should’ve cut Eli’s ass and moved on.  When they didn’t, they set themselves up for disaster.  Re-signing Odell was probably a mistake, I would have traded him a year ago (probably could’ve gotten even more), but instead you had the GM literally say “we didn’t sign Odell to trade him,” at the end of the season, and two months later he’s a Cleveland Brown.  The Giants had no plan, are stuck with a 38-year-old QB who’s been done for two seasons, a workhorse RB, Golden Tate, and Jabrill Peppers. You know what? Good for Cleveland, and good for Odell to get off this sinking ship; you should too if you haven’t already!
