The Knicks not Playing on Christmas is a Blessing

For any basketball fan, or NBA fan in general, Christmas is a special day. Presents, family, and food. Now add in 5 NBA games and you got yourself something to watch the entire day while enjoying your family and presents. It’s like getting an extra chicken nugget in your 10 piece (or 20 piece for the big fellas). Continue reading “The Knicks not Playing on Christmas is a Blessing”

Anthony Davis Gets His Wish

After months of speculation, LeBron James and Anthony Davis will finally be teammates (Credit: Jae C. Hong)

After a turmoil-filled season loaded with injuries, drama, and franchise incompetence, the Los Angeles Lakers can finally say that they have another superstar in their prime to pair with LeBron James. Yesterday afternoon, the Lakers and Pelicans agreed to a deal that would send Anthony Davis to Los Angeles for Brandon Ingram, Lonzo Ball, Josh Hart, and three first round picks (including the fourth pick in Thursday’s draft). At first glance this feels like quite a lot for one player (because it is), but few players at Davis’s age and caliber are ever available in the trade market. Magic Johnson Steps Down as Lakers President of Basketball Operations

Who expected this!? No one! Look, he was already doing a bad job, but even then, I didn’t expect him to quit now!

Magic got the job in February of 2017. He started with dumping the 2nd pick of the 2015 N (who just brought the Nets to the playoffs after 4 years). Then, drafting a future Point Guard of his liking: Lonzo Ball. Unfortunately though, Ball has had some injuries that have taken him out of commission for weeks or months at a time so he’s never actually had time to progress or evolve into a player the Lakers want. It’s been only 2 years so I wouldn’t worry much now. But I guess Magic couldn’t wait. Continue reading “Magic Johnson Steps Down as Lakers President of Basketball Operations”

Aaaaaaaaaaand we’re back! What a week, huh!? This week things are a bit in the form of a recap of the frenzy of moves in the NFL, as well as some basketball.  Who changed teams you ask? Nick Foles, Le’Veon Bell, Antonio Brown, Odell Beckham Jr., Earl Thomas, Tyrann Mathieu, Trey Flowers, Trent Brown, Olivier Vernon, Golden Tate, Mark Ingram, and many more. It’s okay, because when all of that was happening, Bill Belichick was on vacation without a care in the world, because that’s what winners do.  In other news, we hear more and more about the Lakers each day that paints them in a much worse light (LeBron TRADE RUMORS!?); the Rockets winning streak came to an end against the Warriors; Steve Kerr was caught ripping Draymond Green; Serge Ibaka decided to try to assault a Cleveland Cavalier; Buddy Hield decided to be Klay Thompson, only for Jaylen Brown to clap back and do the same thing in the same quarter (more on that later).

We’ve said enough, now to your preview for this upcoming week!

The Anthony Davis Saga

Anthony Davis’ request of a trade from New Orleans caused a lot of drama the past two weeks in the NBA; is this just the beginning? (Credit: Gary A. Vasquez/USA TODAY Sports)

The NBA trade deadline has come and gone, and Anthony Davis is still a member of the New Orleans Pelicans. After asking for a trade January 28, ten days of drama ensued as Davis was immediately connected to the Los Angeles Lakers.  We heard endless amounts of information (as well as misinformation) from the main parties involved, and the hurricane of madness even hit the shores of Boston, instilling doubts about the future of Kyrie Irving.  My favorite part? LaVar Ball came out of the cave Magic Johnson and Rob Pelinka (must have) paid him to stay in, and told the world LeBron James is nothing without his son Lonzo!
