Who to Watch (November 30 – December 6)

Credit: Getty Images

Happy Friday everyone, and we hope you did not miss us too much.  Between our last visit and now, Baker Mayfield put the Browns “IN THE HUNT,” the Dallas Cowboys won three (3) games, the Los Angeles Clippers became the top seed in the West, and my Boston Celtics continue to look… bad.  With the final handful of weeks in the NFL regular season upon us, and the NBA season 25% complete (more on that here), December looks to be an intriguing month.

Here’s who we’ll be keeping an eye out for over the course of this next week.

Biggest Surprises 1/4 into the NBA Season

Geoff Burke/USA TODAY Sports

Listen, 1/4 of the season is where all the hot takes come to thrive! Whether it’s the Warriors are nothing right now and the NBA is more wide open than ever, or the fact that the Celtics are a glorified 4th seed. Whether the hot takes are lukewarm or scorching hot, I want them in my veins.

I love overreactions from the local networks like when NBC Sports Boston called Boston “Loserville,” completely forgetting the recent success all Boston teams have had. But fuck it, let’s get national (sorta) on these bitches and explore the different surprises around the league! Continue reading “Biggest Surprises 1/4 into the NBA Season”

Bradley Beal on the Trading Block?

Via SportingNews

With one of the best backcourt duos in the league, the Wizards are somehow 5-11. The John Wall and Bradley duo doesn’t seem to be working out. With both on the trading spot, I’m more interested in where Bradley could go, more then where Wall could go. It’s a real possibility and will give a certain contender a great scoring option. Who to Watch (November 16 – November 22)

2018 NBA Finals - Game Two

What a week, huh? Jimmy Butler is traded.  Melo is sent to Siberia.  Draymond calls KD a bitch and to GTFO.  We love the NBA around here.

There was intrigue with the NFL too.  Brady looks… human.  The game of the year needs to move from Mexico City to Los Angeles (have you guys SEEN that field!? Horrible).  Le’Veon Bell will not come back this season, at which point his teammates decided to take his stuff (finders keepers, right?)

As fascinating as the off the field/court news is, we’ll keep on how the players are playing.  Lets see what Fredy, Andy, Kerm, and Nick are thinking…

OH! And an EARLY Happy Thanksgiving from us here at the Hold My Drink Sports team!
