What to Watch this Summer for Boston Sports Fans

Thank God I’m just a bandwagon Bruins fan because that list would have devastated me! Listen, I love sports as much as the next guy but hockey isn’t for me. Maybe next season that’ll change and I’ll understand the game more. But as of now, what should be a kick in the nuts 4-1 loss in a Game 7 feels like a love tap for now.

In this post, I’ll be joined by fellow writer Nick. We’ll be discussing things to look forward to (unless your a Red Sox fan) this summer. Yes, Boston just won 2 championships, but the grind doesn’t stop and neither do we! Let’s get this bad bitch rolling.

*Disclaimer: This was written before game 6 so the NBA side may change. Updates may occur as well. Enjoy!

Red Sox Are a Joke Right Now

It’s no secret the Red Sox have been a dumpster fire so far. 17 games into the season and they’re a shitty 6-11. They have the 2nd worst record in the American League. The Orioles have a better record than them. Yes, the Orioles. The team with the worst hitter in baseball.

The Red Sox had a 6-game home stand the past week and only came out with a 3-3 record. Usually this would be about the time a team with THE HIGHEST payroll in baseball would kind of start figuring things out. But that’s not this years Red Sox… so far. Overreactions from Red Sox Opening Day

Well, that certainly was a kick to the groin. The Red Sox, after going up 2 runs early on, got smacked upside the head by Seattle, losing 4-12. Not the best start, huh?

In just 3 innings of work, Sale gave up 7 runs on 76 pitches. Hector Velázquez didn’t do so hot, giving up 2 runs in just 2 innings. Listen, I’m not a fan of this game either, but there’s 162 games in a MLB season, this isn’t the end of the world! Continue reading “Overreactions from Red Sox Opening Day”

Red Sox fans rejoice!

As if Boston needed another reason to gloat about their sports teams, today news came in that Red Sox ace Chris Sale has agreed to an extension to stay with the team for years to come. Continue reading “Chris “is not for” Sale”

Will Pedrioa’s Knee Hold up?

Maddie Meyer/Getty Images

Dustin Pedroia is a player forever etched in Red Sox history. Winning championships in 2007, 2013, and 2018 is a nice resume. Especially when he played big parts in his first two.

Nick covered his accolades in his 2018 post about the 2nd baseman’s future with the team. I’m not going to argue that. From what I read, Cora and the other players appreciate his leadership in the clubhouse. I’m not doubting that. He’s been there longer than anyone, so if anyone deserves loyalty, it would be the guy who embodies a good Red Sox player (Although I am skeptical after that Machado incident). But, is his left knee going to get in the way of him being a regular almost everyday player? Continue reading “Will Pedrioa’s Knee Hold up?”
